Normandy talent

When Emilie contacted Le Style and introduced her work, I knew her versatile talents and services have to be shared.  A lovely French lady from Normandy France, and a wedding and portrait photographer, Emilie has a similar background as I do, where we both came from the law field and has developed businesses that we both love and are able to be creative and meet great people.

AmyPunky Photography is also available for destination and international wedding photography, so if you'd like to make your wedding even more French inspired wherever you are, contacting Emilie would be the way to go.  Emilie is absolutely friendly and full of life simply from our short correspondences and is just the right personality you would love to work with on your special day.

Food and love for Maman

The best thing to do for mothers on Mother's day is to make something yourself.  The choices are endless to create a wonderful day full of pampering, love and laughter on this day.  As a mum myself, I love it when my family and I sit at our backyard and have breakfast together put together by my 4 year old and husband.

French pamper treatments such as French mani/pedi at French Pink and makeovers at Chanel can never go wrong followed by high tea in the afternoon.  One of my favourites is French crêpes.

Blueberry or chocolate, they all taste fantastic and easy to make.  You can find more on these delicious dish at Chez Flo French crêpes for Mother's Day.  French Tarte aux Pommes is another favourite and is perfect for a feast for more than 4 persons during the occassion.  Attempt to create and have fun with the family if not, there's always gorgeous restaurants that awaits you!

Fête des Mères

In France, the tradition calls for a variety of honors for mother. She might receive a gift from her children, or the children might let mom (or mère) relax, and, as all things in France, it usually culminates in a large dinner in mom's honor. These dinners are usually a major family affair.

This is a day when, much like in Australia, mothers do not work and their families cater to their whims.  Mothers here also usually get cards and flowers. Sometimes children write short poems for mom.  Celebrate in Paris if you will with Discover Paris! as they are having excellent offers on independent tours for travellers to Paris for Mothers' Day.  It's a sure winner and loads of fun.

For Australians, how about coming to one of Melbourne's celebrated places to dine and enjoy a high tea at Cristina Re - Where a Girl Goes at Collingwood.  It's known for its beauty in decor, food and stationeries!  The event holds tomorrow the 3rd May till 8th May, perfect to decide throughout the week.  We celebrate moms this week, so stay tuned on a French Mother's day luncheon article up next on our blog!
